Outdoor Boudoir Session Guide

Outdoor Boudoir

I offer these a date during the summer and they are my most popular sessions. It is a chance to connect with nature and with yourself. Getting out of the “traditional” studio photos and enjoy the outdoors, especially if you are a nature lover or outdoor enthusiast.

Indoor v. Outdoor

The biggest difference between indoor and outdoor boudoir is privacy. Boudoir is intimate so it is important that you feel comfortable and safe. It is in a public place, but we will be pretty secluded. It is not as private as an indoor session in my studio, but we won’t be disturbed.

It’s a fun and creative genre of boudoir photography but it is not for everyone. I recognize that this is often a step outside of your comfort zone.

If this will be your first boudoir session, make sure that you are comfortable being vulnerable especially outside in nature.

If you’ve already done indoor boudoir or are feeling adventurous then outdoor boudoir brings it to another level in feeling confident and loving yourself.

How They Work

I have stations set up in the woods and creek area around the campground that I grew up at. We will be getting around on a four wheeler so make sure you are comfortable riding as a passenger with me.
No need to worry about posing, that’s my job as the photographer!

Be prepared to be immersed in nature.

Style Guide

The packages include hair and makeup.

You provide your own attire. I am happy to help, to share my opinion and to help you pick something out. Wear what you feel the most confident in. Try on outfits at home and see what works and what doesn’t.

Pieces like matching lingerie sets, bodysuits, oversized button-down shirts, lacy bralettes, airy robes, sheer dresses and fabrics like lace, satin, and chiffon work best for outdoor shoots.

However, don't limit yourself to lingerie, you could wear a bathing suit, if that is what is the most comfortable to you.

Embrace your body, celebrate yourself with an outdoor boudoir photoshoot that will be an unforgettable experience.

The Space

It is a spacious open studio with windows for natural lighting. On one side when you walk in there is a huge space for a studio set up with various backdrops and props. On the other side is a boho themed bedroom.

Various backdrops and props can be used for a photoshoot. This one was for a one year old boho photoshoot.

Boho Aesthetic

The studio set up is a free-spirited boho theme with a bed and two wicker chairs that fit the theme perfectly. The room is filled with neutral tones of browns, creams, whites, and muted yellows and pinks. Boho decor including fluffy pillows, blankets and plants that complete the look.

The iconic egg chair is a new addition to the studio space. It has become a major decor trend fairly recently. It elevates the space and brings it to a whole new level. A boho dream.

Sunshine

Studio Ideas, Boho Aesthetic Photoshoot

When the sun comes out, it is like a heavenly dream in here. The way the light shines through into the studio onto the wall, and the furniture is stunning. The windows provide the perfect amount of natural lighting and the sun shining through provides amazing illumination.

Visitor Point of View

Studio Ideas, Boho Photoshoot

I was extremely impressed when I first walked in. The space is very inviting and welcoming. It is a very comfortable space with a couch for visitors to sit and place their belongings. The boho decor is beautiful and there is a lot of attention to detail. My favorite part of the space is the windows that provide the natural light and when it shines through the window, it is incredible.

If you end up at the granite place, you are at the wrong location.

Celebrate Weight-loss With Boudoir

Everyone has goals. Whether it’s just to tone, or loses a ton of weight. Let’s Celebrate that WIN! I know personally that losing weight and having control of your body is super hard. I go up and down the scale and can never get to the weight I would like to be at. I think it’s one of the hardest things to keep up on and that’s topping the whole paying bills on time thing…

Today, I would love to share some images from a recent session. This lady contacted me about booking a boudoir after she lost 150 lbs. She was SO nervous.

I believe that having a makeup girl in the studio helps calm their nerves a little bit because she talks to my clients the whole time. They carry on conversations that keep their mind at ease. They see themselves all GLAM’D UP, and say, let’s DO THIS!

RM---2.jpg

I almost ALWAYS start my client on the bed, on their belly. It lets them get comfortable, it hides anything they may feel self conscious of, and they don’t have to do much.

RM--3213.jpg

This image was said to be her favorite from the whole shoot! The chair poses have been a huge hit lately. My clients have a chance to feel empowered in the chair and it also hides some things as well.

We ended the shoot with nothing but a blanket. I noticed as we went on, she became STRONG, and FEARLESS. She left feeling like a model and that Is my ultimate goal. Celebrate your journey through the experience that will leave you feeling like a goddess! <3
