Freedom Run Winery is such an amazing venue! It’s got a rustic edge, but super modern at the same time. If you’re not a country person, but still like an all inclusive rustic wedding, definitely check this place out.

A Mystical Wedding

Getting Ready

Ceremony

Nick and Brenna picked the perfect location to express their love for one another. The location is so beautiful and enchanting. The trees were absolutely breathtaking. I wish all my weddings were at this lovely location in Naples, NY. The Cummings Nature Center is the place to say I DO!

Family / Wedding Party

Reception

This wedding is unique in that they decided to do family traditions. Cutting a log instead of a cake is a German Tradition. “Baumstamm sägen” or “saw the tree trunk” is a wedding tradition that requires some arm work as a representation of the first obstacle that the couple must overcome, they must express willingness and the abilities to master the hurdles that arise in marriage.
Also, Shrek was a special guest!

Reception

This couple had a few surprised up their sleeves. They invited the Syracuse Orange Mascot to their wedding! Rebecca played her flute for her friends and family as well. Those were some key moments that made the wedding their own and super unique to their interests and desires.

See The Shoot: Nick + Andrea

Nick & Andrea had a small intimate wedding at The Wurlitzer and I was all for the upstairs warehouse area. They were not sure if they would like the images up there and I reassured them that they would be KILLER!
They were referred by someone who used to babysit my daughter. Referrals are the best, am I right?

These love birds were set up on a blind date…a very successful blind date.

The Details

Details are important. Check out the details from the day! They are just a small clip of the story, but dang are they beautiful images.

The First Look

As I tell all my brides… just do it. It’s an imitate moment where you can share together and not have to keep it together in front of all your guests. This groom was BLOWN away!

Wedding Party

Although they had a small wedding party, they knew how to have fun!

The Bride and Groom

Okay, I have a lot to say here. Hang on tight.
Roger and Rockie are the PERFECT match. They had their engagement session at the same location we went to the above images. It’s important to them. They are so passionate with a side of goofy. I love it. They were my ideal client. Rockie has a special surprise for Roger on the day of their wedding. She also booked a boudoir session and decided to get a black book to gift to her man! He LOVED it (maybe not the opening it in front of the camera part.. but we wanted to get the reaction)

The Ceremony

Short and Sweet! It was such a beautiful ceremony. But let’s talk about the location for a minute!
Niagara Crossing is the location, its balcony works so well for wedding ceremonies! The only complaint was a man mowing his lawn during the ceremony but i’m sure he does that for all the wedding they do just to be that guy. When I got there, my phone said “Welcome to Canada” as we were just across the river in Lewiston.

The Reception

Time to PARTY! They had some amazing moments. If you know me, you know I LOVE getting moments with the older folks. The reason I have such a passion for those images is because those people will more than likely not be in your life a whole lot longer. There was also a moment where they got grandma out of her wheel chair and held her up to dance and I thought that was so special.

See The Shoot: Steven + Kristina

4.30.22

Steven + Kristina found me last minute when they found out the photographer they booked was moving out of state. When I saw the inquiry in my inbox, and realized that they needed assistance I could not back down, especially when I read that it was at The Sterling. After talking with the couple, I knew that they were a good fit for me. It was such a beautiful day…

Getting Ready: The Venue had such a beautiful bridal suite. The lighting and colors in the room was perfect for my style.

First Look: Although the cat walk was tricky to get the right angle, I think its such a great idea! It’s worth having a second shooter with you to get the right angle! I love the way that he looked at her <3 EVEN WHEN THEY ARE ALREADY MARRIED! Yes, they were already married… Thanks to covid.

Ceremony: The ceremony location was pretty. The only downfall was the sunshine mid day. As photographers, we work with what we got and have to adjust for various lighting situations. Check put the beautiful building behind them tho! ugh! The windows are so cool!

Wedding Party: OMG This was such a fun group of people! As you can tell, they had so much fun! From posing like the opposite sex, to screaming at the top of their lungs for some fun shots, It was amazing.

The Couple: UGHH! Such a beautiful couple! I can not express enough about how much love there is between them. The way the look at each other, the way they LOVED every moment of the day… LOVE

PARTYYYY: They finally got to celebrate their LOVE! It was such a great time and good people. They ended the night with a sparkler send off!

Why do the first look?

Should you do the “First Look”?

What Is the First Look?

The first look is when a couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day. This intimate moment typically makes for an emotional photo opportunity.

RM-3422.jpg

Pros of doing the “First Look”

You can get many of the photos taken before the ceremony: It gave you a moment before the day officially started to connect with one another and take a deep breath. You can get all the bridal party shots and some couple shots before the ceremony to see some time.

It gives you and your partner a few moments together: The “First Look” does not spoil the ceremony. You will be full of emotions no matter what. It’s a moment you can be emotional without people watching you.

You can capture an emotional moment on camera: A wedding is an intimate, emotional experience, and a first look means I can capture a couple together in that moment. Yes, walking down the aisle is emotional, too, but you’re not together in those photographs.

Cons

You'll have to get ready earlier: If you’re having a ceremony earlier in the day, a first look will mean you have to be ready even earlier than you’d planned.

Lighting may not be ideal: Your photographer and videographer will try to be discrete and as far away as possible, but we will still be around. Lighting during a first look isn’t always ideal. They usually happen during the day, when lighting is harsh, so you may need to take more photos after the ceremony anyway.

When the groom is standing there waiting, he is super anxious to see his soon to be wife. He has that brief moment of silence to prepare for the moment that he is about to endure. With doing a first look, he can be emotional for you. Let’s face it, all brides want to see the groom cry. You are more likely going to see a better reaction when a hundred people are not looking at him.

5 Reasons To Book A Bridal Boudoir

Bridal Boudoir needs to be announced to the world just a little bit more. Maybe the bride is so overwhelmed with everything else that goes into a wedding that doing something for herself or creating an amazing gift for her future husband is not on the top of her list. We want to remind all the brides that this is a great gift and an amazing experience for them. I believe that all brides deserve to have a bridal boudoir shoot. WHY….
Take a look at these 5 reasons.

RM_--21.jpg
  1. Celebrate Your Beauty

Bridal boudoir sessions are a great way to celebrate your beauty. It will lift up your spirits and make you feel amazing seeing yourself in the images. It’s such an empowering experience. What ever your age, shape, color, booking a bridal boudoir is a really special gift to yourself that you will love for decades to come.

2. Gives you “You Time”

The experience factor. When you are all stressed out from other wedding planning and every day life, a boudoir sessions can take you away from all of that chaos for a short while. It’s all about you and you will realize that its enjoyable and relaxing. With the right photographer, you will be calm, and start enjoying your time quickly.

3. Perfect Gift For Your Future Husband

In addition to being a special gift for yourself, your bridal boudoir is a special gift for your fiancé. You can give him a beautiful album, book, or prints. You can even make a slideshow of your images for him to watch the day of your wedding. Professional boudoir products will last a lifetime and you can enjoy them together.

4. Brave & Bold

I can not tell you how many times a client has told me how scary the whole process seems to them. They have expressed their fears, insecurities, and nerves to me. They end up feeling like a rock star 10 minutes into their session. Once you warm up, you will really feel brave and bold. It’s an amazing feeling that all woman should experience.

5. Reminiscing Later

Have you ever seen someone in their 70s or 80s smile at the thought of how they looked in their 20s or 30s?
It’s incredible. I know that we all secretly hope science will find a way to keep us looking young forever, but we will look and feel older as we age. Having these bridal boudoir images will preserve those memories of how you looked and felt in your prime. You will be glad to have that.

Vienne Wedding

My First Indian Wedding

It was just beautiful to say the least. I am not going to lie, I was a little nervous because I have never photographed an Indian wedding and I was not sure exactly how the day would go. It was split into two nights. The first night was more about the Indian culture. I was actually really amazed at how colorful and beautiful it was. That was at Taste of India.
Check out these images from that night….

Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale

The admiral room was beautiful. As a photographer, I was in heaven! The natural light in this venue was just amazing. I spent the beginning playing with my settings, taking detail shots. The bride was still upstairs getting ready. I went up for a couple images of her getting ready and detail shots. I then came back down, waiting for guests arrive I just stood there in awe, like i’m here right now photographing a wedding. I sure hope I get to come back here again. Check out this venue:

The guests started to arrive and I was photographing and grouping. The mother of the bride wanted group shots during this time. I am still in awe about this. Im soaking up every once of beautiful I can. With covid, there was not as many guests as there would normally be so that didn’t take me long at all. Check out these images from the beginning of the event:

The bride was ready and the guest began to be seated…. It’s time for the ceremony! I was a little skeptical with the decision to allow guests to have their phones out, but I was not actually that bothered by it! Don’t get em started on that beautiful cake! I wanted to just wrap it up and take it home with me it was that beautiful! They had the happiest reactions to cutting the cake and I am so happy that I was able to capture it.

It’s Speech Time… They both made wonderful speeches toward each other and appreciating their family. It was clear that they were soulmates. They had so much chemistry and the way they looked at each other was like I was watching a romance film. Im so happy with the images and I really hope I get to photograph more cultural weddings. Check out the remainder of the night here:

Vaughn Wedding

Photographing Friends..

I love it. I can enjoy your wedding while I photograph it. I don’t mind.

A lot of people in my circle have hired different photographers so that I can enjoy the day.
In my head… It kills me. I end up staring at the photographer the whole time and totally judging them.
On the other hand, I do respect the fact that my friends would like to have me there as a guest.

My friends hired me for their elopement in October! It was great knowing my client already. I think I prefer having my camera in my hand anyways because i’m always so awkward.

Check out this Fall elopement.

The elopement was at Allegany State Park. It was pretty nice out. The sun was high during the ceremony and totally shining right on the couple. We took a trip to the stone tower to get some great couple photos for them. That area of the park totally brought out the fall colors.
